Yea really we are opening soon, any day now, you know coding is a bit hard, it really is, i mean i have to design and code an entire site, including a full fledged CMS system,
which i plan to sell to enterprising young fools for lot's of $$$, it's gonna be awsome. so anyway whats the geek state, it is the comersial successor of Flashbang.se, you know the two
big issues i had with it was, #1 most visitors that came to my site either came for the fbo tutorial or they came looking for how to make home made flashbangs, so yea the name wasn't that great
and i sure hope "the geek state" is a better one, hell i actually did some market research for this one, government funded market research (you gotta love sweden for that one), you know i found
that the name is really like 50% of the marketing aspect as when you search it's often whats being displayed first. ok #2 then, flashbang.se has always been a personal site, go ahead visit it and check it out,
but people don't want personal stuff, unless your interesting enough, which i am not, so great content is key, you know i have been looking at the tracking data trough google anlytics, by the way i now know where
you live, i mean it's a great tool, i was looking at it today and found that someone from Velizy-Villacoublay (look it up on wikipedia) in france has been reading a page for 3min 54sec, amazing you can see almost
everything about your site, among other things which pages and how long people visit, it tells me exactly what i needed to do to increase the ammount of visits and ad clicks, funny thing ad revenue
especially the eCPM one as it relies on two factors both the number of visits and the ammount advertisers are willing to pay per 1000 views, it's usually pretty low at least on flashbang.se since
i didn't have as many visitors as i would have liked, but the thing is the more visitors the more advertisers are likely to pay, which means the payout is really exponetial, truly interesting.
Anyway, to do this i have to widen everything i do, i mean instead of the very few and narrow tutorials i have previously written i need to expand into other topics, like gadgets, fotography,
other programming, games, and then especially game reviews, which is my ticket into e3, i hope, hey maybe i get to meet this fills aims guy, so any way i have to differetniate myself from all the others,
so i was thinking about writing it slightly differently, maybe instead of saying "this totally generic 9.1 megapixel camera is better than the same model with a 9.09 megapixels" i was thinking more along the lines of
"this is how you could use this slightly newer model of this camera", the teory is that if you induce creativity people get interested and they return if i induce creativity there is a much
higher chance that they will buy the products advertized, and you know that's the name of the game, making money, hell i am doing it even now, generating interest, at least if you made it this far you
are clearly interested and that makes me happy, so the plan is to start a few days before e3, but to do that i have to keep coding like a crazy monkey, cheers. - Peter
