I seem to have increased the quality of my renderings a bit, i might do a few more passes before i composite it into a movie, i think i have enough frames for about a minute but i think it’s a bit anemic, i want at least 30 seconds more, i might try a 3d tricorn rendering next, screenshot after the jump.

New phase-changing alloy turns waste heat into green energy

If they could ever get this to work properly it could be a really interesting technology, imagine placing it anywhere there is heat and you can extract electricity from it.

However while the article doesn’t say i do suspect that making it work on a large scale could be difficult since i suspect that you need to constantly change the temperature for it to work, but let’s hope im wrong and that it’s a true power converter capable of changing heat into electricity.

So someone did just that and created the worlds first 3D printed bikini.

Project citrus

Introduction
This project is sort of an oddball compared to what i usually do, bit there is a good reason for it, sort of, basically it started as a discussion between me and my mother who coincidently knows a lot about plants (her garden has over 100 different species of pants, so that’s a lot).
Either way we where talking about lemons (because we where currently eating them) and i said that wouldn’t it be nice with a lemon tree outside, to witch she responded, “lemons cant grow here, it’s to cold”.
Now that was more or less the magic word right there, we can grow grapes, kiwi, corn and the asparagus is taller than she is, so why not lemons, or any other citrus fruit for that matter.
